Somalia, Past and Present

As the war rages on, the entire region is in turmoil. Various factions are fighting for control of Somalia while pirates capture large foreign commercial ships and take hostages. Among our panelists are Somali economist Abdirahman Abdi, conflict resolution expert Hussein Yusuf and Refugee International Advocate Patrick Duplat. A reception will follow the program.

The event will be held at the Charles Sumner School, which is an 1872 National Register landmark and is part of the DC Public Schools and Archives. We are grateful for their generous hospitality for this event.
