About The San Diego International Relations Meetup

While casually surfing the net, reading up on some local history, I came across this site:

and suddenly it hit me. The 75th Anniversary of the California Pacific International Exposition (CPIE) is right around the corner -- 2010 is coming fast. I sent a couple emails and quickly discovered that there were no plans to commemorate this event.

So now we're going to do something about it.

I decided to bring together a group of citizen activists and community organizers, people with the passion and the ideas to make this Expo happen, for San Diego, and for the Word.

What we want is a major international Expo, a World's Fair, right here in Balboa Park. We want to invite artists, performers, musicians, intellectuals, and many other fascinating people from around the world to come to our city as one great exposition of the best the world has to offer.

This is a major opportunity for our city -- for tourism, for business, and for our reputation abroad. And we've got about two years left to make it happen!

Who is with us? Come to our meetup the first Wednesday of every month, and bring your ideas for a modern-day California Pacific International Exposition in 2010!
