Folks,

The Credit Crunch has been on every newspaper front-page for the past several months and I thought this would be a good opportunity to review the events and what led to this fiasco. But currently there are only a few books on this issue, and I chose the one in print.

Title: The Trillion Dollar Meltdown
Author: Charles Morris

You might wonder what this has to do with International Affairs. Well foreign policy published this note from the author; the financial markets influence everything in this age of globalisation, and the biggest reason is that your organiser, that is me, is reading that now ;)

Another book that I am reading on the same subject is
Title: The New Paradigm for Financial Markets
Author: George Soros
But this book is only available as an ebook from Powell, and not yet in print.

You can also supplement the reading with The Economist or other journals. But the discussion can easily get out of hand, so we will follow Morris (compulsory reading) plus any other pertinent source. I will not advertise this book too much, since this is one of the few books available on the subject.

see you there,
Dyutiman
